Our advisory board
Icona’s distinguished board has experience spanning a multitude of industries, markets, and high-value projects.

Jean-Pierre Verlaine serves as board member of several Luxembourg regulated investment funds and non-regulated alternative investment funds with special focus on real estate & infrastructure, private equity and debt strategies. He has more than ten years’ experience as managing director and partner at the European private equity funds advisor J. Hirsch & Co, where he managed over EUR 1 billion in assets. Mr Verlaine has also been deputy director at Société Européenne de Banque S.A. Luxembourg – Gruppo Banca Intesa, with a strong track record in the alternative funds industry and transaction management.

Edward Spencer-Churchill started his career at Bain & Company. He has over 20 years’ experience investing in a wide range of companies and industries. Ed oversaw the £500 million business process outsourcing transactions for Pearl Group with Tata Consultancy Services in 2005 which transformed the business. Most recently, alongside Mark Wilson (ex-CEO of Aviva plc) he has overseen SCP’s investment into Abacai Group, a personal line insurance technology business.

François Reyl is the CEO of Reyl – Intesa Sanpaolo. He joined Reyl & Cie in 2002 and initiated and led the deep transformation and development of the bank. He became the CEO in 2008. Prior to this, Mr. Reyl worked in the M&A department and LBO Coverage Group (which he co-founded) of Credit Suisse First Boston in London. He began his career as an M&A attorney with Jones Day in New York and Paris.
